Rice Weevil
Scientific Name: Sitophilus oryzae
The Rice Weevil is 3-4 mm in length and is almost identical in appearance to the Granary/Grain Weevil. Its’ larvae feed in stored products such as rice, corn, oats, nuts, seeds and pasta. An infested area is often moist from the insects’ respiration and holes in grains can be spotted. Eggs from the Rice weevil hatch in just 3-4 days.
